Guangzhou, also known as Kwangchow, is Guangdong's province capital, found in Southern China. It is considered a main transport and trade spot, for it is the third largest city in the Asian country. It is found 74 miles away from one of the world's financial headquarters, Hong Kong.

As for China, a country found in Eastern Asia, is known as the most populated country in the world, with its statistics showing nearly 1.4 billion inhabitants.











Main features and history

Due to the socio-economic reforms introduced since 1978, China has become one of world's fastest growing countries and is regarded as an emergent economic superpower.

Its G.P.D (Gross Domestic Product) which is the people's purchasing power, is the highest in the world. Not to mention that China currently exports and imports the majority of goods globally.

The government holds a capitalist-communist scheme, and has established its capital in Pekín, also known as Beijing. China also claims the island off its eastern coast, Taiwan, which has a totally different political status.



Language 

Cantonese is the predominant native tongue in Southern China, where Guangzhou is located. 

Traditions
  • It is common for the Chinese to practice traditional dances and exercises in parks or by the river early in the morning or at nights.
  • Karaoke is very common too. You can even find private rooms at parks where families gather to eat and sing karaoke.
  • It should also be said that the Chinese are high consumers; online shopping is very popular and shopping centers are always full.
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine based on plants (creams, mashes, and syrups) is normally used in hospitals, clinics and pharmacies.
